The latest move by Epic Games to introduce a new marketplace Fab. It will launch in mid-October 2024. It will be the one-stop marketplace for 3d and 2d assets and consolidate Unreal Engine Marketplace, Sketchfab, Artstation, and Quixel.com.
Goods
- Multi-platform support– Compatible with Unreal, Blender, Maya, Cinema 4D, Adobe Substance 3D, etc.
- Unreal Engine integration– Direct access from the Unreal engine without leaving the Unreal engine.
- New 3d viewer– New and better 3d viewer Empowering creators to explore 3D assets while providing publishers with tools to showcase their work in real-time 3D effortlessly
- Assets variety– Including 3D models, 2D assets for game engines, environments, audio, tools, and plugins, available in multiple formats.
- Better search tools– with different sort and filter options to find required assets quickly.
- AI option – Creators can decide if they allow to train AI with their Assets data or not.
Bads
- Fab will not support open-text reviews or questions.
- Quixel megascan library and other assets will not be free anymore.
Offers for sellers
- 88/12 of the revenue sharing model where the seller will get 88% of his/her assets sales and Fab will take only 12%.
- A temporary 100 % revenue share on Fab standard-licensed products until the end of 2024.
- Publishing a Fab-licensed product qualifies you for a free 6-month subscription to Adobe Substance Painter and Modeler

- if you spend at least $25 on Fab you’ll be eligible to get a free 6-month subscription to Adobe Substance Painter and Modeler.
What should you do?
- Download as many Quixels Megascans and other free assets as possible before they launch because If you have made purchases from the Unreal Engine Marketplace over the years, you will continue to have access to your Marketplace purchases through the Unreal Engine Vault.
- If you are an Unreal Engine Marketplace creator migrate your products to Fab using the Fab Publishing Portal.
